Miron Kiselev is a New York City-Based artist. He received BFA from Rhode Island School of
Design in 2019, and has exhibited his work in Art Shows in Moscow, Providence and New
York. The majority of materials used in his work are repurposed and upcycled fabrics. Through
embroidery and embellishments in his apparel design work he urged the viewer to consider the
opportunity of prolonging the life of the garment through repair.
Miron created a workshop “Expressive Repair” in 2018 in RISD Museum, and it is an ongoing
project. The workshop was part of New York Textile Month, Atlantic Antic, and Earth Day.
Miron's artistic practice is deeply rooted in his personal obsession with graffiti and a search for a
comprehensible language to promote a more sustainable approach to individualistic expression
through fashion. He firmly believes that it is a personal responsibility for prolonging the life of
garments, in order to minimize the waste.
