Masterfully woven on a foot pedal loom to create lightweight textured lawn cotton. Its original pattern is achieved using mud resist technique in a desert workshop that has been artfully hand block printing for 500 years.
Kalamkari is a special block-printed cotton textile using only natural dyes. Its name refers to the ancient style of hand painting that was born out of the art of storytelling. Our print is themed with Peepal leaves and butterflies. Making Kalamkari fabric involves 23-steps including treating and preparing the fabric, preparing the natural dyes and finally painting with precision and care. Produced using sustainable practices that help improve the livelihoods and welfare of our artisan community makers and reduce the impact on the environment.
