Fully hand-cut of vegetable-tanned leather and hand-stitched construction.
These bags used to be made for horse back riders to pack lunch and attached to the saddle. We revise them and add the long shoulder strap.
Amish made in the USA
Forager Co. is a handmade small batch clothing and leather goods company located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. We design and produce utilitarian products and incorporate foraged vintage and historic textiles, old stock denim, and salvaged leather.
A combination of Lancaster-based Mennonite and Amish craftsmen, refugee makers, and assistance from a small batch Brooklyn-based accelerator provide skill, integrity, and spirit, turning our ideas and finds into unique and functional pieces. Clothing is made by folks who have been sewing for generations. Leather goods are produced in an Amish harness shop by a craftsman who has been at his trade for over thirty years. Forager Co. is honored to work within this vibrant community as we support a local cottage industry. With our conscious choice of materials and makers, we step away from mass production and turn back to a time of individually made goods.
We are proud of what we make and how we make it: Products that we love with the mark of the maker's hands and responsible, soulful origins.
